![]() ![]() I find the innovative and unique elements grossly underrated, and I really appreciated the fresh, fun spirit of the game. As a multiplayer shooter it is intriuging, and as a single player campaign it is interesting, but if you enjoy splitscreen this is the best game I have seen in a long time. Even on PS4 it had quick load times in its mostly seem-less, menu-less system, giving a feeling of contingency and fun not prevalent else wear. All that aside, EA's second iteration includes many of the same mechanics, which personally I enjoy as they are more action/gameplay oriented then realistic shooters, but Garden Warfare 2, unlike its forebearer, is fully fleshed out and has many innovative features of its own. All that aside, EA's second iteration includes many of the same mechanics, which personally I enjoy as they are more action/gameplay I will admit I was a fan of the original game for its unique blend of arcade-y shooter with interesting mechanics that made the game fresh, mechanics so well like that EA ended up taking many of the same systems into the game Star Wars Battlefront. There's definitely alot more than your typical CoD yearly iteration though (without $50 or more in extra DLC), so it's still a worthwhile purchase. The only downside is that this new iteration, at its core, is very similar to the original game. The game is competitive of course, but somehow the game is packed with alot more pure fun. It's pure fun, whereas with a lot of online shooters now it seems like you need to devote yourself to fully in order to be successful. ![]() It's also relatively easy to pick up and play, which appeals to the casual player but the game has enough more than enough depth for the serious player. While it's goofy (and often hilarious) there's just so much going on with the various characters, abilities, maps, modes, and customization that it feels like there is a lot more variety to the action than most of the standard shooters. But one of the big selling point of this sequel was also the addition of a solo campaign, and that point was a let down, yes you can play in solo but it's the same maps than the multiplayer and there is absolutely no effort in the level design of these "solo ops", there's no story neither, it could (and should) have been must better, there's still room for improvement in that domain. Gameplay wise the multiplayer is still one of the best in this generation with 6 new classes that won't break the balance of the battlefield and are as fun as the originals. Technically the game didn't evolve much and what was okay in 2014 is under the average of 2016 game, the loading times are a bit long but at least there is no disconnection problems or any major issue for that matter. ![]() Gameplay wise the multiplayer is The first episode was a very fun multiplayer experience, the challenge for this sequel was to add more content, let's see how it did.
